As a result of prolonged heavy rains that hit Bolivia in January of last year, the number of fatalities has increased. Flooding and swollen rivers caused damage in several regions of the country. Particularly severe conditions arose in the departments of Cochabamba and Santa Cruz.
According to local authorities, more than 12,000 families were affected due to the natural disaster. Many homes were completely destroyed or damaged, forcing people to leave their homes and seek refuge in temporary shelters.
Authorities are carrying out work to provide assistance and support to those affected, offering hot meals and other necessary material resources. Many people expressed gratitude for the help they received from the government and volunteers.
However, the situation remains serious as more rains are predicted. Emergency services remain on high alert and continue to work to prevent further disasters and provide assistance to those in need.
