For the first time in its history, Bolivia is participating in the international tactical SWAT Challenge 2026 with two specialized teams. The first is the Special Operations Group GEAT, and the second is the CLAWS unit, dedicated to combating organized crime. This participation coincides with the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Bolivian Police. General Juan Peña Rojas, Deputy Commander of the Bolivian Police and Chief of Staff of the Ministry of the Interior, confirmed that this step reflects the country's strategic direction towards enhancing openness to international security experiences and establishing cooperation and partnership relations with police agencies worldwide. He noted that choosing this global event for their debut is a significant move to strengthen ties with law enforcement around the globe.
