Bolivia Condemns Javier Milei's Offensive Comments

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia strongly condemned the offensive comments made by the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, which were perceived as an intrusion on national sovereignty and dignity, according to a foreign media report. The government led by socialist Luis Arce evaluated that these statements represent an attack on the process of strengthening Latin American and Caribbean regional integration.

In a press conference with the United States Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, Milei allegedly stated that Bolivia ended up "destroyed" due to socialist policies hidden under merely rhetorical nationalism. This particular statement generated a significant impact on the neighboring Plurinational State, which has been the subject of criticism from the Argentine leader.

In response to these statements, the Bolivian Foreign Ministry pointed out that it is paradoxical that those who issue judgments about other countries fail to refer to the deep social crises, increasing inequality, and institutional violence present in their own territories. Likewise, the Foreign Ministry expressed its commitment to a politically and economically sovereign model, which has proven to generate surpluses and distribute wealth for the benefit of the majority, promoting social justice with dignity.

"In the face of the discursive offensive that promotes disqualification and confrontation, we reaffirm the commitment of the Plurinational State to a politically and economically sovereign model, which has demonstrated that it generates surpluses and distributes wealth for the benefit of the vast majority and seeks to build social justice with dignity," the Foreign Ministry highlighted on social media.
