Club Aurora Faces Heavy Penalty Over Player Fraud

The Disciplinary Tribunal of the Bolivian Federation imposed a sanction of 33 points on the Aurora club from Bolivia for falsifying the identity of one of its players. The player in question, Diego Hernán Montaño Moizáin, was registered under the name Gabriel and with a false age, 20 instead of 25 years. For this infraction, the midfielder was banned for two years.

In addition to the penalty for the player, officials Jaime Cornejo and Ivón Sandra Valencia received a suspension of three years each. After learning of the sanction, Cornejo, who no longer holds the position of president of the club, stated that they respect the rule, despite considering the decision unfair at that moment.

The former president of Aurora also announced that they will appeal the decision, arguing that they have elements that will support their position. In Cornejo's words, "There is no tribunal or judge that will ultimately condemn an innocent."
